Bay Beach

Today we spontaneously decided to drive to Green Bay to take Morgan to Bay Beach. Bay Beach is a really cute little amusement park for little kids. It's great because children as little as 2 years old can ride a good portion of the rides. And the best part? Most of the rides only take 1 ticket and tickets are only 25 cents each! So Morgan got to ride nearly all the rides twice for less than 5 bucks!

I was really nervous about putting him on the rides by himself. The first few rides my stomach was a ball of anxiety and I watched him like a hawk. But after I seen that he literally had no fear, and was wearing such a huge grin as he got on ride after ride all by himself, I loosened up a little. It was such a great time for all of us, and I think it just may have been the most fun Morgan has ever had. Here's the photo evidence:

1. Play in a sprinkler
2. Zoo
3. Draw with sidewalk chalk
4. Wisconsin Dells
5. Make dessert on the grill
6. Bike rides
7. Bay Beach
8. Go to a flea market
9. Go to the children's museum
10. Plant flowers
11. Make homemade play-doh
12. Go for an early morning walk
13. Eat s'mores
14. Go on a day trip
15. Buy a treat from an ice cream truck

I'm dying to cross #13 off!

Happy 2nd Birthday, Morgan!!

A little over a week ago we celebrated Morgan's 2nd birthday with a big party with family and friends, but today on the actual day of his birthday we are celebrating with a low key day - just the three of us.

Last night, we filled the floor of his room with balloons so he would see them when he woke up. We could hear him on the monitor when he woke up this morning saying "bol, bol, bol" {aka balloon}. It was super cute.

We also layed out his birthday present from us out on the living room floor last night - one of those activity rugs with a road on it, and a new box of matchbox cars. He loved it!

Later, we went out for chinese for lunch. This was Morgan's fortune:

Anyone else find it as hilarious as I did? No?

Finally we returned home and sang "Happy Birthday" again over a yummy jello cake.

I still cannot believe it was two years ago today that this little man came into our lives and enriched them more than we ever could have imagined.

Happy Birthday Little Man!

Love,
Momma

homemade play-doh

11. Make homemade play-doh

We crossed #11 off of our summer bucket list this morning before Morgan's nap.

He just might have had even more fun making it than playing with it. It was so sweet to watch him get into pouring each ingredient into the pot and stirring it all up. He really got a kick out of that. And I got a kick out of watching him do it.

We used this recipe here. It's so quick and easy to make, I don't know why we didn't try it ages ago. Plus, if stored properly your play-doh should last up to 6 months!

lots of catching up to do...

Lately, I have found myself seriously jonesin' for fall.
It is my absolute favorite season of all,
and since pregnancy has made me especially nostalgic,
I just cannot wait for that happy feeling I get when...
the windows are open with a cool breeze blowing,
the air has that smell,
fall scented candles are lit,
pumpkin flavored anything is in my kitchen,
and we're all cozy in sweatshirts and sweaters.
Please tell me, how can anyone be anything but happy in fall?

But alas, it is still summer and we still need all of August
to catch up on, and keep scratching off each item on our summer fun list.

And on that note... what's a girl gotta do to find an ice cream truck these days??

We partied

Yesterday we celebrated Morgan's 2nd (let's all pause a minute there to let that one soak in...2nd!) birthday with family and friends with a party at Grandma and Grandpa's house.

The party turned out fantastic...the food was good, the weather was perfect, and the company was great.

We went with a little man theme this year (see last year's party here) with little mustaches on chocolate lolly pops, the cupcake toppers, and little stickers I made for the lemonade cups. Not to mention the invitations. It's safe to say I got a little mustache happy.

But, most importantly, Morgan had a wonderful time playing with everyone who came to see him and all the fun new toys he was gifted. He started to really get tuckered out towards the end though and showed some his cranky/diva/sassy side. Gotta love that 2 year old attitude!

Here are some pictures from the big day...

Lemonade station complete with fun, striped straws, a chalkboard sign, and DIY customized cups.

Yummy white chocolate lolly pops I made simply by melting chocolate and pouring into a mold I found at Michael's.

Walmart cupcakes and DIY cupcake toppers (mustache printouts mounted on kraft paper with a tooth pick hot glued in between)

Morgan's banner I made for his party last year. I think it just might become a tradition and make an appearance at his party each year :)

I also made (from a box...) a lemon (dairy free) cake for Morgan. Everyone else really enjoyed it too!

The lucky boy got a big boy bike from his buddy across the street from Grandma and Grandpa's.

It was hard to get him to sit still to open presents once that bike was brought in...see him eyeing it up and ready to leap?

He was in love with this Mickey Mouse musical card from Grandma and Grandpa!

Quite possibly my favorite pic from the day :)

Lots of bubble devices were received - his favorite!

Eagerly anticipating his cake.

New bubble mower!

With both of his great grandmas :)

If you're looking for me, I'll be the one sitting over here trying not to blink before another year passes before I know it...
